Work with internal and external resources to develop clear and detailed specifications and logic to customize energy analysis software tools based on best methods and industry practices. Assist in development and management of BIM Revit families. Provide application support for Representatives, Engineers and Contractors for software tools and BIM Revit families.

Develop detailed specifications and logic for energy analysis software development and maintenance

Work with IT programmers to implement specifications and logic into a custom energy analysis software program

Provide direction to programmers implementing specifications

Project management of software program development from start to finish

Assist in development of BIM Revit families and integration into custom product selection programs

Basic programming for database development and management and software enhancements

Implement engineering rules based logic into product selection software

Test and debug software being developed

Provide training and support to internal and external users of customized software tools being developed

Work on product selection software development, test and debug, and support for various product lines

Creates software designs that satisfy product requirements as outlined in the product specification and resolves design problems.

Translate and implement Engineering product structure and configuration rules into the software.

Interface with multiple stakeholders, which may include end users, customers, marketing, consultants and engineers in the design as well as the performance of the software. Establish the user interface requirements to assure ease of use and friendliness of the application.

Assist in the resolution of errors found in the software through troubleshooting/problem-solving.

Use modern software engineering techniques to develop modular object-oriented software that meets the product requirements. Maintains documentation in order for resulting software to be easily understood by others.

Develop and maintain project plan and schedule, including resource planning to meet objectives and communicate to management changes and/or delays. Resolve schedule or resource conflicts as required. May assign and direct the workload of available team resources, including progress/status meetings as necessary.

Prepare and execute software testing plans to ensure quality and accuracy. Assure that designs meet safety requirements and all applicable industry and/or McQuay standards.

Communicate informational deadlines with all affected departments to ensure project schedules are maintained and software is released on time.

Works with other functional groups in order to develop tests that simulate the requirements of the customers. Evaluates test data and makes software revisions to solve identified problems.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (Technical, Scientific or Engineering) from four-year College or university and 3+ years of experience working with HVAC systems energy analysis and building modeling. BIM and Revit knowledge and experience preferred. Marketing software tool development experience preferred. experience with DOE2, energyPlus, Equest and EnergyPro. Strong PC, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are required. HVAC background, basic programming and rules based engineering experience are desired
